Today (February 4) marks the beginning of the Year of the Goat or the green wooden sheep (ram) in Chinese astrology, the year of solidarity, harmony and calmness. It is the birth sign for those born in 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003 and 2015.

Goats are social preferring the company of others than being alone and have some very special character traits: honest, intimate, and easily affected by others misfortune…mild mannered, shy, sympathetic, intelligent, particularly creative and charming – we all need a goat in our lives!  The goat is also the lucky 8th sign in the Chinese zodiac and symbolises wisdom, fortune and prosperity.  The element is earth,  colour is green and numbers 3, 9 and 4 will bring luck to all goats.

And in numerology 2015 is a universal year 8 for the child of fate – a year to learn through the unexpected, a year that will inspire greatness if you choose to remove the breaks and take risks. Year 8 is governed by Saturn (the master teacher) who just happens to be in our universe to help us evolve and live in a state of higher consciousness.

So to all you goats and green wooden sheep – wishing you the happiest and most prosperous of years – make the most of all it brings your way!
